Dear Husband, This Is What I Really Want For Mothers Day

Mother's Day Wishes

One of my least favorite questions is "What do you want for Mother's Day (or insert holiday here)". In reality, there is so much that I need, but nothing that can be wrapped up in a bow and presented to me. I would love a day where I am not constantly being touched by little hands. A day where I'm not constantly getting snacks and wiping noses. A day where I can fully sit and turn my brain off, not be running through the list of all the things that still need to be done.

And when both my boys were newborns, what I wanted and needed more then anything else was sleep!

Being a sleep consultant myself, I lucked out in that department! I am the person that NEEDS at least 8 hours of sleep a night, so when they were waking up every 3 hours as newborns, all I kept thinking was "I have no idea how people do things for months or years on end".

Sleep is SO important to your health and well-being. We all strive to be the best mom that we can be for our particular children, but it is very hard to do with little to no sleep! Sleep for you makes you well-rested, more patient, and more able to combat illness from those germy hands in your face. Sleep for your little one also means a break for you during the day!! I don't know about you, but nap time is a favorite time of mine to work, clean up around the house, or just lounge on the couch and watch Netflix!

If what you are really looking for is a lifetime of a good nights sleep - your in the right place!

So many people talk about self-care, as you can't pour from an empty cup. Some suggestions include taking a hot shower, going to get a massage or waking up early to drink a cup of coffee hot. Sometimes things like taking a nap or going to bed early are included on those lists. However, sleep IS NOT a luxury, it is a necessity!!!

If you are exhausted, worn down, and tired of hearing others brag about their amazing sleepers, then taking action is the next step. No more dreading nights because you don't know what to expect. No more dragging yourself out of bed, and cry begging your child to go to sleep.

Wake up refreshed and excited for your day, each and every day!

Just imagine being able to:

  • Put your child to sleep at 7pm knowing they will sleep soundly until morning

  • Have reliable naps you can count on during the day

  • Be in charge of your night -- Netflix and chill, time alone with your spouse or catch up on work

  • Brag to all the moms in your moms group about your amazing nights of sleep!

So this Mother's Day when someone asks you what you want, say "to sleep well again". Be sure to follow up by giving them my website: babyoandiconsulting.com
